No one asks you what it is if you debadge it.

I’ll ask, then.
Ecoboost, V6, or V8?
:P

Just a little four cylinder.

That’s because it’s the Camry of performance cars.

What did you do with the tail lights?
![]() 10/25/2017 at 23:22 |

Yep, they’re everywhere, though I wouldn’t say they’re Camry popular.

Thanks man!

I wanted it to look more like an early 90's firebird. ;)

Why debadge? Just asking. Cleaner look?

I had painted the rear pony black to get rid of the only chrome on the car, but I ended up having to touch it up at least once a week. The tail panel is in a low pressure zone and gets dirty as hell and the pony back there made it tough to clean. Here’s the before photo...

That’s weird, it needs some sort of chrome fake gas cap.

Looks a lot cleaner without that pony.

Oh, I see. To keep things clean. It’s like manscaping for your car. ;)

Nope, no chrome. Anywhere. None on the back, none up front, not even chrome lug nuts.
I have seen some guys go the chrome route with chrome trim around the taillights and elsewhere. Just not my thing on a new sports car.

I like it!

They’re basic vinyl overlays on teh stock lights. If I get tired of it, they’ll come off pretty quickly.

Cleaner look and when you go to detail it, less places for crap to get stuck in. But mainly cleaner look. At least personally. I always figure the people that know what it is are knowledgeable about the car, and the ones that need a badge to figure it out, can piss off. But that’s just me. I’ve always been a fan of the subdued visuals.

Looks great.

I can see that. The iconic badges never bothered me as much as the words. It’s silly to write paragraphs on cars about “V8” and “VTEC”, and “limited”,etc.

I think about removing the faded arrow heads from my Goat... Then the only badges would be the side GTO ones.

Wouldn’t look bad.

I agree, though I really want the Maverick Man blue ones
